Overview and Meaning

Copulating is a sexual behavior that occurs toward the end of the behavior sequence and defines a successful attempt at mating. Following copulation the male will dismount the female and begin post-copulatory grooming.

Description

Once a male has successfully mounted a receptive female's hindquarters, he will continue performing palpitations and pelvic thrusts until he ejaculates.
