Aisling Chaney, PhD promoted to MIPS Instructor of Radiology

The Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (MIPS) is excited to announce the promotion of Aisling Chaney, PhD to MIPS Instructor of Radiology, effective February 1, 2022!

BA (2011): Trinity College London, Neuroscience
MRes (2012): Imperial College London, Neuropsychopharmacology
PhD (2016): University of Manchester, Neuroscience
Postdoc: Stanford Radiology/MIPS, mentor: Michelle James

Research Focus:
Dr. Chaney develops and evaluates imaging techniques to enhance understanding and diagnosis of neurological disorders. Her current research focuses on imaging neuroinflammation in neurodegenerative disorders such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis using positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance (MR) techniques. Her previous research topics include investigating the effects of childhood maltreatment and major depressive disorder on brain morphology.
