Biswal Lab Uses FDG-PET/MRI to Pinpoint Chronic Extremity Pain

New research from the Biswal Lab and collaborators presented at the 2019 Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Medicine annual meeting showed that FDG-PET can help boost the detection of abnormalities associated with complex regional pain syndrome when clinicians utilize combined PET and MRI for diagnosis of the condition.
The study found the improved sensitivity of FDG-PET discovered changes in muscle tissue that MRI could not diagnose.
