MIPS Research Featured on the Cover of Clinical Cancer Research

August 16, 2018

Research by co-first authors Maryam Aghighi and Ashok Theruvath from the Translational Pediatric Molecular Imaging Program has been featured on the cover of Clinical Cancer Research (September 2018, Volume 24, Issue 17). The team imaged tumor associated macrophages (TAM) with ferumoxytol-nanoparticle enhanced MRI in cancers of pediatric patients. This new imaging test can be immediately applied to track tumor response to new TAM-modulating cancer immunotherapies with MRI. This project involved an interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers of the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (MIPS), the Radiological Science Lab (RSL), the Pediatric Radiology Section, the Department of Medicine (Oncology), the Department of Pediatrics (Pediatric Oncology) and the Department of Pathology at Stanford.
