Meet Oscar Muñoz
A first-generation college graduate from an immigrant family, Oscar has led an impressive business career. He served as CEO of United Airlines from 2015-20, leading the company out of a period of crisis by rebuilding trust with customers and employees. As a recent Executive Chairman of UAL, Muñoz is also recognized for helping marshal the airline’s global response to the pandemic, as well as his inclusive vision for economic renewal and an environmentally sustainable future.
Prior to his time at United, Oscar served as President and COO at railroad company CSX, after many years as the Executive VP and CFO, and he is known for boosting operating income by nearly 600% and delivering over a decade of excellent financials.
Among his many C-Suite positions over a career spanning several decades are CFO and VP of Consumer Services at AT&T Corporation, Senior VP of Finance and Administration for U.S. West, and Regional VP of Finance and Administration for Coca-Cola Enterprises. Oscar has also served on Salesforce’s Global Advisory Board since its inception.
He and his wife, Cathy, founded Pave It Forward, a foundation that raises scholarship funds for first-generation students.
