Daphne Koller
Daphne Koller, PhD, is an accomplished entrepreneur and computer scientist, currently serving as the founder and CEO of insitro, a biotech company that leverages artificial intelligence to enhance drug discovery. Koller previously co-founded Coursera in 2012, building one of the world’s largest online learning platforms to serve nearly 10 million students with courses from over 100 prestigious universities. Her innovative work at Calico Labs as the first chief computing officer from 2016 to 2018 focused on applying machine learning to biological datasets, a theme she continues at insitro. With a distinguished academic career spanning over 18 years as a professor at Stanford University, Koller has received numerous accolades, including a MacArthur Fellowship and recognition as one of TIME Magazine's 100 most influential people. In 2023, she was inducted into the National Academy of Sciences. Koller earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and her PhD in computer science from Stanford.
