Anne Wojcicki is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and co-founder and CEO of 23andMe, one of the world’s first direct-to-consumer genetic testing companies. Over nearly two decades, 23andMe has helped more than 13 million people uncover details about their backgrounds and amassed one of the largest genetic databases of any company in the world. Along the way, Wojcicki has been a key voice in shaping the industry, including navigating emerging government regulatory requirements for direct-to-consumer genetic testing. Prior to founding 23andMe, Wojcicki worked as a health care consultant and analyst. She is the co-founder and board member of the Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences, which honors scientists that make transformative advances in the field. She also serves on the leadership council of the United States of Care, a nonprofit advocacy organization working to make health care more affordable. In 2020, she was named one of “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” by Forbes, and in 2013, she was named “Most Daring CEO” by Fast Company. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Yale University.
