Myungheon Chin was born in Seoul, South Korea, in March 1988. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Seoul National University (SNU) in February 2013 and his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in March 2016 from Stanford University. During his master's degree, he designed and characterized readout electronics for detector modules that consist of position-sensitive SiPMs coupled to 0.5 mm x 0.5 mm x 1.0 mm LYSO crystal arrays.

His current research interests include novel image processing methods and clinical translation of a 1-mm Resolution Dual Panel Clinical PET system.
