Groups & Workshops

Counseling groups and workshops offer students a safe space to be themselves, discuss their concerns, and experience validation of their experiences. In a community with peers, students increase a sense of belonging and connection, decrease feelings of isolation and anxiety, share mutual support, and experience relief from difficult feelings. Students come to understand themselves better, build hope, and develop skills to navigate stressors.

MHT groups and workshops vary in topic and duration and are facilitated by various members of the MHT staff. Please see the group/workshop descriptions below for current offerings and registration information.

MHT is in the process of developing more groups and workshop offerings for School of Medicine students.

Scheduling an Appointment

To make an appointment, please contact CAPS Front Desk at 650-723-3785 and specify you are a School of Medicine student seeking an appointment with MHT.

Sessions with members of MHT remain cost-free for actively enrolled MD, MSPA, SoM BioSci MS, and SoM BioSci PhD students regardless of insurance coverage.

Students must be in the state of California when engaging in MHT telehealth treatment services. If you are located outside of California, MHT can provide you with telehealth Care Management services to help you connect with resources in your local area and temporarily support your needs while you are seeking local care.
