Veng Jean Heng, PhD
Biography
Veng Jean Heng grew up alternating between living in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Montreal, Canada. He received his B.Sc. in Honors Physics at McGill University in Montreal in 2017. He then completed a CAMPEP M.Sc. in Medical Physics at McGill in 2019, working on dose-to-outcome modeling for CyberKnife patients. Continuing with a Ph.D. at McGill until 2024, his research focused on the mixed electron-photon radiation therapy technique. His current research interests revolve around methods for rapid Monte Carlo dose calculation, treatment plan optimization algorithms, as well as the development of the spatially fractionated radiation therapy technique. In his free time, Veng Jean likes to play video games, chess, table tennis and piano.
Veng Jean Heng joined the Stanford University Medical Physics Residency in 2024.
