This performance of CONDUIT is dedicated to Krishna V. Shenoy, the Hong Seh and Vivian W. M. Lim Professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford. He was one of the world’s foremost authorities on how the brain creates movement in the rest of the body, and sadly passed away in January.
Special thanks to all of the individuals and departments who made this event possible, including Stanford’s Medicine & the Muse Program, Jacqueline Genovese, Christy Hartman, Zack Leuchars, Tim Swiss, Julia Diaz, Nicholas Weiler, Robyn Wright Dunbar, Rob Dunbar, and the Saddleback College Associated Student Government. We are also grateful to all of the speakers and dancers who contributed their time, energy and enthusiasm to this project!

Creative expression does not exist in a vacuum but is deeply influenced by the societal contexts surrounding it. The class used the breadth of Bill Clark's life experience, a prolific artist and writer incarcerated on Death Row as the platform to develop their own artwork. This has taken the form of writing, film making, dance, music, and theater. Bill offered some of his most inspiring writing to the class as a foundation for research and called into the class each week from the prison phone so the students could interact with him directly.
