Building Operations & Maintenance

The Building Operations & Maintenance Team is made up of multiple skilled trade technicians and laborers. This team works 7 days a week to complete planned maintenance as well as respond to any requests. Please explore below to learn more about how we support you and guidance on funding. Facilities Funded

Current building infrastructure is maintained and repaired by operations and maintenance

  • Building lighting
  • Building systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Cold rooms
  • Common areas; lobbies, stairwells, restrooms
  • Existing doors, hardware, and locks
  • Existing window AC units
  • Generators
  • Exterior buildings’ signs
  • Regularly scheduled and contracted services
  • Temperature adjustments: too hot, too cold

Department Funded

Departments cover the cost of changing and adding building infrastructure to meet departments’ needs; all lab/department equipment and furniture; requests beyond contracted scope of work

  • Bulbs on appliances (including UV bulbs)
  • Extra custodial services outside of scheduled services
  • Hanging pictures or whiteboards
  • Keys and rekeying
  • Modifications or upgrades of electrical, HVAC, plumbing
  • Moving equipment or furniture
  • Painting and carpet inside department space
  • Pre-event and post-event grounds cleanup
  • Seismic bracing of equipment
  • Fume Hoods
  • Bio-safety Hoods
  • Tissue Culture Hoods
