Clinical Summer Internship (CSI) Program | Summer 2026
The Clinical Summer Internship (CSI) program is seeking an undergraduate student to serve as a Program Manager Assistant (PMA) for Summer 2026. This temporary role supports the delivery of a hands-on medical education program for high school and undergraduate students and plays an important role in day-to-day program operations.
Program Dates
Session 1 (In Person): July 13–24, 2026 | Stanford campus
Session 2 (Virtual): July 27–August 7, 2026
Core Responsibilities
In-person program support
Assist with daily setup for hands-on activities
Support student logistics and transitions between sessions
Assist with meal coordination and classroom readiness
Escort students between program locations
Virtual program support
Moderate Zoom sessions (chat, Q&A, breakout rooms)
Support icebreakers and social programming
Capture screenshots/photos for program use
Program operations
Troubleshoot basic technical issues
Communicate with lecturers and guest speakers
Assist with CSI social media content
Support program closeout activities, including:
Graduation slideshow
End-of-session surveys
Graduation certificates
Speaker gifts
Assist with time-sensitive operational needs during live sessions
Work Schedule
This role begins part-time in June prior to the program start date. Pre-session work is flexible and primarily remote. All staff must report to campus for full-time work beginning July 6, 2026.
Session 1 (Full-Time | In Person)
On campus at Stanford
Monday–Friday
Program hours: 8:45 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Includes daily setup (approximately 1–1.5 hours prior to program start) and wrap-up time (approximately 1 hour at the end of the day)
Full-time availability required during this two-week period
Session 2 (Part-Time | Primarily Virtual)
Flexible schedule
Work conducted primarily remotely
Limited optional on-campus support opportunities may be available
The position concludes at the end of Session 2 on August 7, 2026.
Occasional work outside standard program hours and optional overtime opportunities may be available but are not required.
Applicants must have full-time availability during Session 1 to be eligible for this role.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled undergraduate student
Strong proficiency with Zoom and Microsoft Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Ability to interact professionally with students, parents, and faculty
Must reside in the Bay Area and be able to travel to Stanford’s campus
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Resume required
- One academic or professional letter of recommendation required
- CSI alumni are not required to submit a reference
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Livescan fingerprinting and a background check.
Compensation
Hourly pay range: $23.00–$25.00 per hour
Final compensation will be based on experience, education, and internal equity.
This is a casual/temporary position and is not benefits eligible.

The Clinical Summer Internship (CSI) program is seeking Stanford University medical and physician assistant students to serve as Student Instructors for Summer 2026. This instructional role supports faculty and program leadership in delivering a hands-on medical education experience for high school and undergraduate students.
Student Instructors contribute to both preparation and live instruction across in-person and virtual sessions, supporting lectures, skills training, and clinical simulations.
Program Dates
Session 1 (In Person): July 13–24, 2026 | Stanford campus
Session 2 (Virtual): July 27–August 7, 2026
Core Responsibilities
Instructional support
Moderate faculty-led sessions and assist with lectures
Lead or co-lead skills and anatomy instruction
Facilitate breakout discussions and applied learning activities
Hands-on teaching
- Support vitals, physical exams, dissections, suturing, and injections
Assist with clinical simulations and experiential learning
Address student questions and reinforce learning objectives
Program collaboration
Partner with CSI Directors and affiliated faculty
Support student engagement during in-person and virtual programming
Adapt instructional materials to support dynamic teaching delivery
Work Schedule
Session Participation
Sessions held Monday–Friday, 8:45 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Instructional activities typically run in 1–2 hour blocks
Student Instructors select sessions based on their skills, interests, and availability
Preparation & Training
Some outside preparation required for instructional activities (included in stipend determination)
- Attendance at 1 in-person training session is required prior to program start
- Trainings held on Stanford campus in June
Scheduling is flexible across both sessions; however, reliability and preparation are expected for any sessions accepted.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled Stanford University medical student or physician assistant student
- Strong comfort presenting to and engaging groups of high school and undergraduate students (in person and virtually)
- Demonstrated competency in clinical skills such as:
- Anatomy
- Suturing
- Injections
- Patient interaction (history, vitals, physical exam)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and fellow instructors
- Strong communication and teaching instincts
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching or facilitation experience
Interest in medical education and mentorship
Creativity in instructional delivery, especially for hands-on virtual learning
Requirements
- Must be a Stanford University medical student or physician assistant student
- Availability to participate across program sessions
- Completion of:
- Livescan fingerprinting
- Minors training in STARS
by June 1, 2026
Participation is contingent upon completion of required background and training processes.
Compensation
This is a stipend-based instructional role. Compensation is determined by the number and type of instructional sessions supported, preparation time, and level of involvement in program delivery.
Estimated stipend range for the full summer program: $400 – $4,000
Most instructors participate in a subset of sessions; total stipend varies based on engagement and instructional assignments.
This role is not benefits eligible.
