Social Justice & Health Equity Curriculum Thread
The Health Equity Curriculum Thread was established as a CCAP directive in the summer of 2020. Under the leadership of faculty lead Dr. Italo Brown, the initiative began with a comprehensive review of the Stanford Medicine curriculum to identify strengths and gaps in how the school addresses health equity and the structural determinants of health across both clerkship and pre-clerkship education. Building on that review, Dr. Brown has worked closely with course directors, faculty, students, and staff to implement meaningful revisions to existing educational materials.
