NBME Self-Assessment Services (NSAS) Vouchers

The Stanford Medicine MD Program will provide pre-paid NBME Self-Assessment Services (NSAS) vouchers upon request for current medical students in their second year or later who are planning to take the USMLE Step 1 exam in 2021.  The vouchers are made available to cover the cost of the NBME Comprehensive Basic Science - Expanded Feedback self-assessment exam. The voucher program is an optional resource to prepare for the USMLE Step 1 exam.

Starting in January, students can use the SoM Registrar's Office Voucher Request Form to request a voucher. Students will be emailed the  voucher and instructions starting in mid-February, after the request form is received.  The vouchers will be redeemable on the MyNBME website when a student signs up to take the Comprehensive Basic Science practice exam.

Examinees will receive their feedback immediately after they have completed their online self-assessment through the testing application. The score interpretation guide allows participants to translate an assessment score to an approximate corresponding USMLE Step 1 total score. The feedback is also available to the SoM Registrar's office, and anonymized scores will be reviewed by the Office of Medical Education for understanding aggregate score trends over time.
