Stanford School of Medicine Coursework and Unit Requirements
While students enrolled in any Stanford scholarly concentration can apply for a Master of Public Health, the Scholarly Concentration in Community Health well prepares students for a dual MD/MPH degree. Students in this concentration, for instance, take part in service-learning seminars, lecture series, and workshops in the areas of healthcare for the underserved, physician social responsibility, community health interventions and community-responsive research. Students develop relationships with community partner organizations that can form the foundation for their thesis research projects.
Students who pursue a dual MD/MPH degree program are expected to complete the following:
- All core requirements for Stanford School of Medicine
- All unit requirements at the MPH institution
- A culminating research project with advising from faculty at both institutions
