Director's Message - December 2021

As we look towards the future and the start of 2022, we reflect back on some of MCHRI’s highlights and achievements of this past year.

In 2021, MCHRI held our annual Symposium virtually for another year, expanded our Diversity Initiatives by launching the Research on the Structural Racism, Social Injustice and Health Disparities in Maternal and Child Health Pilot Grant and the new DRIVE in Research Pipeline Program, continued to prioritize education through our Seminar Series, and so much more.

Learn more about this year’s many accomplishments and efforts in our 2021 Annual Report.

The Clinical Research Support Office (CRSO) specifically made breakthroughs and strides in:

New Stanford Children’s Health (SCH) Intake Portal: supports the intake of new clinical and translational research studies that will take place at SCH

Expanded Epic research functionalities: new Epic billing review and training, to encompass all research billing by March 2022

Launched quarterly CRSO workshops: focused on expanding the CRSO research resource availabilities and functions

Thank you to our partners, donors, and members for your continued support and innovation.
All of us at MCHRI hope you will have a wonderful, safe, and joyful end of the year.

Karl Sylvester, MD - Director of Clinical Research Support Office, MCHRI; Associate Dean for Maternal & Child Health Research and Professor of Surgery (Pediatric Surgery), Stanford School of Medicine
