The Bass Society of Pediatric Scholars
With a pledge of $30 million in 2008, Anne and Robert Bass ignited support for pediatric education, training and research at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Their commitment was designated as a challenge match to raise awareness of the pressing need for funding in this area. Today, we celebrate the success of The Bass Society of Pediatric Scholars, a remarkable community of rising stars in children’s health.
Stanford University is world renowned for multidisciplinary research, and The Bass Society of Pediatric Scholars provides an invaluable forum for a community of scholars to share knowledge, discoveries, and training across different areas of expertise. The exchange of ideas among members of this esteemed society will help to develop a new cadre of pediatric subspecialists—physician-scientists whose work is incredibly important to the future of pediatric medicine.
The Bass Match
Thanks to the generosity of Anne T. and Robert M. Bass, a 1:2 challenge match is available to donors who endow a fellowship or faculty scholar award*. Every two dollars given earns one dollar of the match. Through the Bass Match, a donor gift of $1,333,000 for an endowed fellowship or faculty scholar will earn an additional $667,000 in matching dollars, for a total gift of $2,000,000. This match continues through the end of 2013.
