Marcia Cohen

Senior Associate Dean

Marcia Cohen is the Senior Associate Dean for Finance and Administration for the Stanford University School of Medicine, a position she has held since 2006. Reporting to the Dean, Marcia is responsible for the oversight and direction of strategy and operations of the School’s financial, administrative, and information technology functions.


Robert Harrington

Professor of Medicine

Dr. Robert A. Harrington is an interventional cardiologist and the Arthur L. Bloomfield Professor of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Stanford University. Dr. Harrington was previously the Richard Sean Stack, MD Distinguished Professor and the Director of the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) at Duke University.

Arnold Milstein, MD, MPH

Professor of Medicine

Dr. Arnold Milstein is Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Clinical Excellence Research Center at Stanford University. Dr. Milstein’s research spans positive value outlier assessment, human-centered healthcare design, and, in partnership with Stanford's AI Lab, the development of technology-based cognitive aids to boost the yield from healthcare spending.

Kevin Schulman, MD

Professor of Medicine

Dr. Schulman is a Professor of Medicine, and serves as the Associate Chair of Business Development and Strategy in the Department of Medicine, Director of Industry Partnerships and Education for the Clinical Excellence Research Center (CERC) at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and, by courtesy, Professor of Economics at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.


Christopher Sharp, MD

Clinical Professor

Dr. Sharp serves as Chief Medical Information Officer for Stanford Health Care with responsibility for driving the enhancement and expansion of clinical information systems to drive organizational strategic outcomes in quality, experience and value. Dr. Sharp is a practicing General Internal Medicine physician at Stanford. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics.

Kristan Staudenmayer, MD, MS, FACS

Associate Professor of Surgery (General Surgery)

Dr. Kristan Staudenmayer received her medical degree at the University of Texas at Southwestern Medical School in 1999, and completed her residency in General Surgery at Parkland Hospital in 2006.

Charles "Chuck" Eesley

Associate Professor of Management

Chuck Eesley is an Associate Professor and W.M. Keck Foundation Faculty Scholar in the Department of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. As part of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, his research focuses on the role of the institutional and university environment in high-growth, technology entrepreneurship.

Lawrence “Rusty” Hofmann

Professor of Radiology

Dr. Lawrence “Rusty” Hofmann is the Chief of Interventional Radiology at Stanford Hospital, a tenured Professor of Radiology at the Stanford School of Medicine, and a renowned expert in deep vein thromboses (DVTs). He and co-founder Owen Tripp started Grand Rounds with the goal of making expert medical care more broadly accessible.

Natalie Pageler

Clinical Professor

Dr. Natalie Pageler is a board-certified pediatric intensivist and board-certified clinical informaticist. She is Chief Medical Information Officer of Stanford Children’s Health, Associate Program Director for the Stanford Clinical Informatics Fellowship, and an Associate Professor of Pediatric Critical Care at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Nigam H. Shah, MBBS, PhD

Professor of Medicine

Dr. Nigam Shah is associate professor of Medicine (Biomedical Informatics) at Stanford University, Assistant Director of the Center for Biomedical Informatics Research, and a core member of the Biomedical Informatics Graduate Program.
