Priti Lakhani is a board-certified podiatrist with a passion for safety and patient experience.

Her background is rich and varied. She practiced as a Surgical Podiatrist for 15 years, seeing patients and advocating for system improvements to decrease variability. She obtained her Master’s in Healthcare Management, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Harvard School of Public Health.  Working for Cerner as a Physician Executive, she assisted her clients through implementation, physician engagement, and population health.  She led the Physician Leadership workshop teaching change management and governance.  As a Director at Cerner, she was a formative member of the Patient Safety Council.

She guided Microclinic Technologies, as an Executive Vice President overseeing operations, to decrease maternal fetal mortality in East Africa.  Serving as a Health Equity Officer at a rural Kansas hospital to meet the needs of a multi-cultural population at a beef packing plant showed her firsthand the importance of patient experience.  Running Polio Project camps in India added to her passion to provide access to public health and prevention. As a medical advisor to a startup company, she oversaw development of workflows, education, and access.  She served as Chief Medical Information Officer in Philadelphia. As Director of Quality, Safety and Value in the Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization, she oversaw safety for the largest healthcare enterprise in the US, the Veteran’s Health Administration during their initial operating capacity site.

Currently, she serves as a Principal Health Systems Specialist at MITRE, a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC).
