Bio

Dr. Jenkins is a healthcare professional with unique expertise in the disciplines of medicine, business, science, and technology. He has worked in healthcare for almost 20 years while earning numerous accolades and he has been a physician for over 10 years.  He actively practices Internal Medicine as a Hospitalist Physician and he is also the Chief Medical Officer of a Federally Qualified Health Center. Given his diverse knowledge, Dr. Jenkins is often sought for a variety of reasons including clinical case review, healthcare technology application development, biomedical-biopharmaceutical investment analysis, and healthcare market perspective. He has worked with numerous organizations ranging from early-stage venture companies to publically traded corporations to academic institutions.

Dr. Jenkins completed his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan during which time he participated in basic science research within Biochemistry & Immunology. Afterwards, he moved to New York and graduated from Columbia University with two degrees, a Master of Art in Biotechnology and a Master of Art in Biomedical Informatics. While attending graduate school, he contributed to a laboratory dedicated to Genetics & Development before transitioning to business development and conducting licensing deals for a venture company. He then attended Vanderbilt University and completed his Medical Doctorate degree while also leading multiple projects in the departments of Biomedical Informatics and Critical Care Medicine. Following medical school, he pursued Post-Doctorate training in Clinical Pharmacogenomics at the University of California San Francisco where he conducted novel genomics research with significant clinical applications towards diabetes mellitus.
