Elizabeth Brill, MD, MBA, FACOG

Dr. Elizabeth Brill is newly appointed as the Deputy to the Assistant Undersecretary for Health for Clinical Services Integration after successfully completing the temporary detail as the Acting Deputy to the Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Community Care (OCC). During this detail, she was responsible for all operational program areas within OCC, assisting the Acting Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Community Care in managing over 7,000 OCC staff.

Dr. Brill previously served as the Chief of Staff at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, a 1b facility with an academic affiliation with the University of Cincinnati, from 2016 to 2019. Dr. Brill is an Army Veteran who spent 12 years on active duty as a physician in a number of leadership roles, including Chief of OB/GYN and Deputy Commander for Clinical Services, across assignments in South Korea, Germany and El Paso, Texas.  She is a recipient of the Army Commendation Medal.  Prior to the Cincinnati VAMC, Dr. Brill served as the Chief Operating Officer for Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH.  Before that, she was the Director of Surgical Services at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. 

Dr. Brill completed her undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned her medical degree from The Pritzker School of Medicine at The University of Chicago. She was a recipient of ROTC and HPSP Army scholarships.  After completing her military service, she earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and worked in health care consulting with The Boston Consulting Group before returning to hospital administration. 

Dr. Brill is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.  She is also a certified executive coach, trained through the Hudson Institute.
