Majei Lab DEI
We value an inclusive and diverse research environment that celebrates and supports each individual and their identities and experiences. The group is committed to creating a safe and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, physical appearance, and/or age. Furthermore, we realize that in academia, including the Biosciences and Medicine, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) continue to face discrimination and injustice. Our role as a group is therefore to commit to actively combating these inequalities by:
- Continuously educating ourselves and re-examine our practices, behavior and attitudes
- Committing to anti-racist behavior throughout all of our communications, both within the group, the Stanford community and the broader scientific community
- Advocating for and highlighting the contributions specifically of BIPOC scientists
- Identifying and taking advantage of opportunities for outreach to BIPOC and URM students across all levels of training
