Mission

JoinJade is a global campaign to fight stigma, end transmission, and eliminate deaths associated with hepatitis B. Jade represents good luck and longevity in many cultures.

History

JoinJade grew out of the Stanford Asian Liver Center’s work to end hepatitis B stigma, spread awareness, and save lives.  The campaign was founded in 2001 by Dr. Samuel So, Founder and Executive Director of Asian Liver Center at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. So found that many of his patients suffered from advanced-stage liver cancer caused by hepatitis B, which could have been prevented by early action and treatment. Today, the Stanford Asian Liver Center and the JoinJade campaign are leading global efforts to eradicate hepatitis B among the most impacted communities worldwide.
