Our research is in focused ultrasound and MR-guided focused ultrasound. Most of our work is in brain applications of focused ultrasound and includes both basic science and engineering of the image guidance. Our brain work can be split into application areas: treatment of movement disorders in humans, blood-brain barrier opening in preclinical models, and neuromodulation in preclinical models and moving toward human application. We also have some ongoing work in improving MR thermometry in the treatment of body cancers in humans. More details about our research can be found on the research pages.
Our lab currently consists of graduate students from the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering, postdocs, and several staff members. You can find links to the lab members and alumni in the people pages. We are interested in motivated students, so please contact us if you’d like to learn more about our research.
Also, we have links to several educational and research videos on the education pages. Recent papers and news items from the lab are highlighted here. If you’d like to join us for group meetings or seminars, contact us. We’d be happy to have you join in our group meetings.
If you are interested in a clinical treatment or a clinical trial, please see the clinical treatments tab for links and contact into.
