Our Projects
Now Recruiting Santa Clara County K–5 Schools for our School Bathroom Observation Study
Our team is recruiting elementary schools in Santa Clara County for a study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH 1K23DK143350-01). This project aims to better understand school bathroom environments, how young children transition to independent bathroom use, and collaborate with schools to develop interventions.
Who is eligible
K–5 elementary schools located in Santa Clara County
What participation involves
One 30-minute planning meeting with one designated school staff member
One school-day visit from our research team
No work required from school staff on the observation day
No student interaction; observers remain in public hallway spaces near bathrooms
Honorarium for school staff point-person
Anonymity in any reports or publications

Bladder Basics
Bladder Basics is an engaging, informative, and most importantly, fun video series that teaches children and their families about bladder health. That’s right, your bladder - the part of your body that makes pee – needs us to follow healthy bladder habits to keep it happy. Each video is ~10 minutes long and covers a different topic related to bladder health.
Target Audience:
Kids: Ages 5-10 years with or without bladder problems.
Parents and Caregivers: Watch with your child to support your child’s healthy habits.
Family Members and Friends: Feel free to watch. There’s always something new to learn!
