Stanford Human Immunity Symposium 2026
The Institute for Immunity, Transplantation & Infection (ITI) is an institute dedicated to discovering fundamental principles that govern the human immune system, and translating these insights into new strategies for the prevention and treatment of disease. In recent years, rapid advances in systems biology, single-cell technologies, genomics, microbiome science, and computational approaches have transformed our ability to study human immunity directly in vivo. These approaches are revealing how immune responses are coordinated across cells, tissues, and organs, and how baseline immune states shape responses to infection, vaccination, and inflammatory disease.
The goal of this symposium is to bring together leading investigators who are advancing our understanding of human immune architecture, immune memory, host–microbe interactions, and the mechanisms that determine immune protection and pathology. We hope to foster discussions that integrate fundamental discovery with translational insights that may ultimately inform vaccines, immunotherapies, and strategies to enhance immune health.
