Storing your data on a server offers several benefits over storing your data locally. TDS’s servers are professionally maintained and secured, backups are performed regularly, and the systems are kept up to date.
Our servers are behind physical firewalls and run security software. Data is stored on a redundant and high performing disk drive system. It is even possible to have redundancy for the server itself. The servers are kept in a physically secure data center, with power provided by multiple sources.
TDS provides file-sharing recommendations and support for setting up user and group folders on our servers. Many School of Medicine departments have their own servers, so please check with your local network administrator (LNA) if you require special access.
