Zoom for School of Medicine Users
Why Use Zoom
Zoom provides the best video conferencing experience at Stanford. It's also approved for high risk data.
Zoom enables you to host or join a virtual meeting from anywhere - your office, a conference room, your home, or on the go. With the Zoom app you can participate in meetings using your smartphone or tablet.
Zoom lets you collaborate with colleagues both within and outside of the Stanford community. Meetings can be scheduled ahead of time or initiated on the fly. And with Zoom, you don't need to share contact information with meeting participants. Instead, you simply email an invitation containing the link to the meeting room. Due to its ease of use, video and audio quality, and instant messaging, screen sharing, and whiteboard functions, Zoom is Stanford’s recommended video conferencing tool. It's available at no charge to faculty, students, and staff with a full-service SUNet ID.

While Zoom has been certified for use with meetings that include such data, you are responsible for ensuring regulatory requirements are met sharing, downloading, and storing the recordings, as with any other regulated content.
