Clinical Informatics Fellowship
ACGME certified fellowship program through the American Board of Medical Specialties
- Focus on transforming health care by analyzing, designing, implementing, and evaluating information and communication systems that enhance individual and population health outcomes, improve patient care, and strengthen the clinician-patient relationship.
- Qualification: completion of Rheumatology fellowship
- Duration: 2 years
- One position yearly; application through Clinical Informatics
BioDesign Innovation
Hands on experience working on multi-disciplinary teams with members from other departments throughout the university and proven mentors to identify important health care needs, invent novel technologies to address them, and prepare to implement products into patient care through start-up or corporate channels
Qualification: completion of at least first clinical year of rheumatology
Duration: 10 months; may be overlapped with research years
Multiple positions yearly; application through Biodesign Program (potential funding available through an application process)
Design, Innovation and Clinical Entrepreneurship (DICE) Fellowship
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, fellows develop a solid foundation of design thinking for health care, gain experience in developing innovative care models, and work with health system and industry leaders to optimize quality of care delivery systems with lower spending
Qualification: completion of at least first clinical year of rheumatology
Duration: 1-2 years; may be overlapped with research years
Multiple positions yearly; application through Clinical Excellence Research Center (potential funding available through an application process)
Honors Scholars Certificate in Medical Education
A multi-disciplinary program open to all medical students, residents, fellows, staff, and faculty with an interest in medical education, meant to recognize participants with a dedication to medical education, who regularly attend the seminars and complete a scholarly project.
Qualification: Letter of support from program director
Duration: 1-2 years
Multiple positions yearly; application through Stanford's Teaching & Mentoring Academy.
Global Scholars Program
Supports fellows who are committed to working overseas in low resource settings. Provides funding for trainees who will be an asset to the staff at the receiving location and support or add to the services provided. Courses in Global Health Studies are also offered.

- Duration: 6 weeks
