Immunology faculty members are leaders in their respective areas of research, and often incorporate bench to bedside approaches. Program faculty have strong records as researchers, including publications and successful research. Our faculty have diverse backgrounds and have a record of research training who have mentored and helped develop successful, former trainees who have established productive careers. Faculty serve on committees, teach major courses, directly mentor students, and provide core support essential to the functioning of the Immunology Program. • Run an online education program through the Stanford Data Ocean for underserved high school and undergraduate students.
• Run a tech museum outreach program for K12 that reaches out broadly online as well as program that are specifically at the Tech.
• Have a collaborative omics (mostly autoimmune) project with a Native American community in South Dakota.
• Held a 3-day intense workshop on artificial intelligence and data science for ~20 undergraduate from underserved groups from the Bay Area and South Dakota.
• The department sends students from our training grant the SACNAS and ABCRAMS.
• Give talks at colleges enriched for students for underserved groups (Morehouse, etc).
• Each summer I give Stanford grad school pitches to 3-6 summer undergrad programs for underserved students
