To incorporate complementary and alternative medicine in medical treatments and to promote awareness and understanding of its use.
Integrative Medicine Interest Group (IMIG) was formed in 1998 under the original group name AMIGOS. At its inception, the group had a lunctime speakers series that invited experts in homeopathy, ethno-botany, and traditional Chinese medicine. Its goal was to better understand complementary and alternative medical practices within the medical community and to promote its awareness among the students. Nowadays, IMIG organizes a broader set of activities, including meditation workshops, guest speakers, and discussion forums on all facets of integrative medicine.
