“Team Stanford" patients, families, friends, and staff gathered virtually again this year to celebrate "Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month" sponsored by the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF). We raised more $2300 for the PFF. Pulmonary fibrosis is a deadly and complex disease that causes progressive scarring in the lungs. PF affects over 200,000 Americans annually and 50,000 people will be diagnosed this year alone. While there is still significant work to be done, progress in the fight against pulmonary fibrosis is being made. Your generosity allowed the PFF to expand essential efforts for the PF community. Thank you!

Stanford University Hosts Successful Patient and Family Interstitial Lung Disease Seminar!

March 3, 2019

The University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), University of California at Davis (UCD) and Stanford University have collaborated every other year since 2009 to provide a multi-disciplinary seminar for patients, family members, and caregivers. In March 2019, Stanford University hosted the event with over 200 participants who heard from experts on topics related to the ‘journey’ from receiving a diagnosis of ILD through all potential treatment options. Multiple exhibitors had information and personnel available to interact with patients, families and caregivers to provide them information on local and online patient support groups, palliative care and hospice services, choices of oxygen equipment, caregiver support, clinical research trials, and local pulmonary rehabilitation programs.
