Karen Vesey | Sr. Director of L&OE

Starting up a Talent Management function in the Stanford School of Medicine has been a thrill. I couldn’t be prouder of the team assembled to problem solve and solution for “all things Talent” over the past 4 years. We’ve had some great successes, some resets and enough collective organizational insights to fill a book.   As we mature, we continue to iterate on strategy and execution, on approaches and offerings, and aspire to weave together a learning ecosystem that integrates learning into our everyday culture and experience.  We hope to nurture self-awareness, applied skills and life and behavior-changing insights.  I bring my own best learning to my role, as a leader, problem solver, coach, mentor, advisor, listener and knowledge worker.  Check out this team and this site for where we are and where we are headed! 

Jeff Edgar | Director of L&OD

Jeff Edgar has worked globally in the field of professional development for the past 25 years. He has broad experience in Executive Coaching, Leadership Development, Team Development, Training, and Change Management. 

Jeff is a practicing graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, and is ICF certified. He is a licensed/certified practitioner in: Heart Math, Social Emotional Intelligence, William Bridges Transition Management, Appreciative Inquiry, Integrity Systems, DDI Program, Polarity Management, Vital Learning, Situational Leadership, Brand Toolbox and Cook Ross Unconscious Bias. 

He lives in California and enjoys spending his free time golfing, listening to music and relaxing with his wife and their three dogs.

Cara Morgan, MS | Manager, L&OD

I am a strategic Organization Development professional with a proven track record driving results across global organizations. I collaborate with leaders, managers and human resource professionals, delivering success in the areas of individual and team learning, leadership and professional development and organization effectiveness. I partner with stakeholders to gain support for programs and interventions while driving  the outcomes to become part of the University culture. Utilizing my interpersonal skills and a strong client business focus, I work to promote the growth of leaders at all levels within Stanford Medicine.

I am experienced in the design and implementation of Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Competency Development and Mapping, Change Management, Leadership Development, Talent Management and Succession Planning.  I am certified in delivering 360 degree assessments with McLean, DDI and PDI.   

I enjoy reading, walking, cooking and spending time with my husband, teenage children and pets.

Morgan Diamond | Specialist L&OD

Within my role as a Specialist, I provide strategic and logistic support for our team’s programs and efforts. As a public relations graduate who puts the utmost value on human connection, I bring a people-first outlook to this role and utilize this education and passion throughout my work. In my free time, I’m either with friends or family, close to the water, staying active (at least trying to) or enjoying great food. During my time at Stanford, I have seen myself evolve professionally and personally and I am thrilled to have a part in returning this favor to the Stanford community!
