Mission
We center and amplify the voices of minoritized research staff and their experiences, while aiming to build a more diverse community at Stanford School of Medicine. We provide opportunities by hosting quarterly touchpoints, addressing current issues that research staff face, sharing resources, networking, and community building. We also aim to share information and knowledge that demystifies what career opportunities exist for research staff.
Vision
We actively create and sustain a nurturing environment for research staff to grow personally and professionally beyond technical skill development. We uplift and value our minoritized research staff community, reminding them that they belong, regardless of scientific contributions and successes.
Who We Support
All staff who work within Stanford Medicine research environments are welcome to join. We especially welcome individuals whose social identities have been minoritized, systematically, and/or historically excluded in research environments to build belonging and community within our space.
Steering Committee
The JEDI Research Staff Community of Support was created and maintained by a dedicated group of research staff involved on the Steering Committee. Past and present committee members include: Sumali Hewage, Tayler Hughes, Anna Okumu, Pratima Prabala, Elidia Tafoya, and Emily Wood.
