Program Overview
The Pod Program builds community across Hospital Medicine by connecting faculty in small groups led by Pod Leads who serve as faculty coaches. Developed in response to the division’s rapid growth, the program ensures that every faculty member receives personalized support. Pods help faculty at all career stages clarify their goals, discover their personal mission, and find professional fulfillment through group gatherings, one-on-one meetings, and guided coaching.
Program Structure
Each Pod brings together about 15 faculty members, led by a Pod Lead with expertise and training in mentorship and coaching. The program supports faculty as whole people by helping them reflect, discover their personal and professional purpose, make intentional decisions, and navigate transitions and milestones.
Pod Leads meet individually with each faculty member every three months for personalized check-ins that can cover any aspect of their journey, from clinical care to scholarship and career growth. Once a quarter, Pods gather for community-building events that foster discovery, connection, peer mentorship, and collaboration across sections and sites.
POD Leads
Pod Leads are intentionally selected for their deep experience in mentorship, sponsorship, and advising. Their investment is in each faculty’s growth, goals, and journey as a whole person.
