Hospital Medicine faculty and staff share a spirit of lifelong learning to drive excellence in patient care, research, and teaching. The Division’s mission is to promote wellness in our division by supporting an environment of community and connection, encouraging quality improvement projects to improve practice efficiency and providing resources for personal resiliency.

The Stanford Mentorship and Advancement in Research and Training for Hospital Medicine (SMART-HM) is intended for all new clinical assistant professors in the Division of Hospital Medicine. Our vision is to use SMART-HM to create the best division of hospital medicine in the country where faculty are thriving and have deep professional enrichment and opportunities for growth.
