Shared Research Facility

The Shared Research Facility (SRF) is one of the core components of the Center. It consists of lab space and equipment customized for stem cell research. Researchers at the Center have access to equipment such as Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) machines, Real-Time RT-PCR machines, high-end microscopes (inverted, fluorescence, dissecting, etc.), cell culture laminar flow hoods and CO2 incubators. The newly renovated SRF is entirely outfitted with equipment purchased with non-federal funds, allowing researchers to work on stem cell lines not eligible for federal funding. The lab space also includes a "hotel" area for visiting researchers to work alongside other Stanford University stem cell researchers.
