Fangdi is originally from northeastern China and grew up on the east coast of Canada. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biological Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by her medical degree at Harvard Medical School. She then ventured west where she completed a residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco as part of the PRIME clinical research pathway, working with Dr. Caroline McCoach to study clinical outcomes of novel tyrosine kinase inhibitors in oncogene-addicted nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). As a fellow at Stanford, she hopes to hone her interests in thoracic oncology as a clinical trial investigator, with a focus on mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies in NSCLC. In her free time, Fangdi enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Jonathan and their Australian Labradoodle puppy.
