Curriculum Track

Pathway - Hematology/Oncology

The Pathway track is a new addition to our program, with the first class starting in 2019.  The Pathway track is optimized for fellows interested in pursuing careers in clinical research, quality, or medical education at academic centers.  Compared to the Traditional Research track, there is an increased continuity clinic requirement (two full days), and fellows are not allowed to pursue laboratory investigation as their primary research focus.

In the Pathway track, fellows spend the first 18 months on clinical rotations, which includes one protected month of research to allow opportunity to establish with a mentor.  Fellows will attend two continuity clinics per week.  The remaining 18 months are protected for research, with at least two full days of continuity clinic per week.  Fellows are appointed by the Stanford Health Care Office of Graduate Medical Education for all three years.
