Our research aims to improve care for children with hearing loss. We seek to understand why some children do well and some do poorly with cochlear implants and hearing aids. We do this by studying the microstructure of white matter tracts of the brain in children with hearing loss. We use MRI-based technology to learn about the auditory pathway of the pediatric brain, how it impacts hearing outcomes, and how we can improve their care.
