Lesson 1 - Get an Attitude
Prepare yourself for a long life
Let's take a closer look at aging in America. There has never been a better time in our nation's history to be an adult. In the first part of the 20th century, average life expectancy was only 45 years, with century, average life expectancy increased to 78.6 years and over 70% of Americans will live to celebrate their 65th birthday. IN 20 years there will be more Americans over 60 than under 15. Thanks to scientific advances, we've added 33 years to our life expectancy!
What does this mean to each of us? It means that we need to make choices that ensure our good health during our life span. We need to work toward a new image of aging, one that includes active, productive, vital years that are full of love, laughter and intimacy.
