Guest Information

Plan Ahead for Your Arrival

Please give yourself extra time to get to campus due to heavier than normal traffic volumes.

You can find the best walking paths between parking and venues on this map.

Parking

The closest parking to the ceremony is in the GSB parking garage and the Maples Lot (ADA parking). A golf cart concierge will be available to assist guests with mobility issues to/from parking, brunch, and the ceremony ADA entrance, which is located at the Southwest Maples Pavilion entrance.

Tickets

Tickets are required for entry to all School of Medicine Graduation events, including the graduation brunch and graduation ceremony.

Graduates must request ceremony tickets for their invited guests by Monday, June 8. (Graduates, please refer to your email for more details.)

Graduates must request tickets for their brunch guests (up to 9 per graduate) by Monday, June 8. Wristbands will be distributed to graduates and should be worn by all attendees for entry to the brunch. (Graduates, please refer to your email for more details.)

Guests who have been pre-registered by their graduates for the brunch and/or ceremony will receive an email containing their ticket. Tickets will list the guest's name and the event(s) to which they were invited (i.e., brunch and/or ceremony), and include a unique barcode that will be scanned upon entry to Maples Pavilion. It is recommended that all guests download tickets to their mobile wallet or mobile phone, or print them in advance and bring them to the events.

Maples Pavilion Information

Guests without ADA needs will enter Maples Pavilion at the northwest entrance.

Public Safety Clear Bag Policy

All guests and graduation participants must follow the clear bag policy, which limits the size and types of bags permitted in Maples Pavilion. All persons, approved bags and permitted items are subject to search upon entry and may be subject to additional search within the venue.

Attendees may bring medically necessary items in a non-clear bag, for privacy reasons, but they may be subject to additional screening. Diaper bags are considered "medically necessary," but will be subject to additional screening (an infant must be present).

Guests with bags or items that do not satisfy the clear bag policy may bring them to the complimentary bag check located outside of Maples Pavilion.

ADA Entrance

ADA parking is available at the Maples Lot. A golf cart concierge will be available to drive guests to/from parking, brunch, and the ceremony ADA entrance, which is located at the Southwest Maples Pavilion entrance.

Once inside the venue, guests can use the elevator to access designated ADA seating. One companion may sit with guests in the designated ADA seating area; the remainder of the party may sit nearby in the stands.

Security at Gate Entry

In addition to the clear bag policy, there will be electronic screening equipment (metal detectors) in use at all venue entry gates. Before entering, guests will be asked to remove cell phones, keys and other large metal objects before passing through the metal detectors.

Any attendee causing disruptions or found with prohibited or otherwise restricted items is subject to removal from the venue.

Inside the Venue

There will be multiple water refill stations available in Maples Pavilion. Guests may bring water bottles that meet requirements of the clear bag policy:

  • Sealed plastic water bottles (20 oz. or under)

  • Empty reusable plastic water bottles (no cans, glass, thermos, hydration packs, or metal bottles)

An information desk will be located at the Maples Northwest entrance point. Please visit the desk for general information, questions, lost and found items, and basic first aid supplies.

A Kids' Corner room is located on the east side of the Maples Pavilion Concourse. The room will have toys and provide a quiet space for children to take a break from the ceremony. The ceremony will be live streamed in the Kids' Corner so that guests can make their way back to the viewing area in time for their graduate's name to be called. Guests should please make sure to supervise children at all times in the Kids' Corner.

    Additional Viewing Options

The School of Medicine Graduation Ceremony will be streamed live on our main website. Please return on Saturday, June 13, for the viewing link.

A video recording will be posted on this site following the event.
