The K7 Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit:
The Acute Care for Elders (ACE) unit on K7, is a special unit in the hospital where the entire interdisciplinary team is dedicated to caring for older adults. People over the age of 65 years hospitalized on this unit have their care reviewed by an interdisciplinary team comprised of the primary admitting team, geriatrics team, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, case managers, and nutritionists. ACE units have been shown to reduce the loss of functional decline while older adults are admitted to the hospital.
