Surgical Oncology: HPB

About Us

Stanford’s Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgeons have developed a strong national reputation of exemplary clinical outcomes following surgery for tumors of the liver, pancreas, bile duct, stomach, and retroperitoneum. The volume of such cases treated at Stanford is among the highest in the country and is the foundation of the outstanding perioperative results delivered by our group. There is a strong interest and proficiency in minimally-invasive techniques (laparoscopic and robotic surgery) as well as established expertise to successfully remove these tumors even when they involve major vessels. Complex cases are discussed at respective multi-disciplinary tumor boards within the Stanford Cancer Institute, where a team of cancer-focused physicians collectively design the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient.
