On behalf of the faculty of the Department of Surgery at Stanford. Thank you for your interest in our General Surgery Training Program.

We strive to provide an unparalleled opportunity for bright and highly motivated individuals to broadly acquire the skills, knowledge, clinical training and additional resources to become future leaders in surgery.

Resident Life

The residency experience is more than clinical time, conferences, and studying. Stanford has a long tradition of placing a priority on resident well-being, and from the program director to the faculty to the staff of the Graduate Medical Education Office, a strong support network exists to help the transition to a new and challenging stage in life.

How To Apply

Our program utilizes the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). If interested in applying, please coordinate with the Dean’s office at your medical school to submit your application materials via ERAS. Our application deadline is OCTOBER 1.
