Gastroenterology Fellowship
Welcome to the Stanford University Gastroenterology Fellowship Program!
Message from the Directors
Our program is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare physicians for careers in academic medicine and clinical practice. Fellows master the cognitive and procedural skills required to function as a consultant in gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy through a broad range of training experiences with diverse patient populations at Stanford University Medical Center, VA Palo Alto Health Care System, and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Utilizing the resources of Stanford, the program inspires scholarship and builds a robust foundation in clinical reasoning, investigative research and leadership.
We acknowledge that each fellow has their own unique background, interests, and career goals. Our aim is to meet our fellows' personal needs so they may reach their full potential for success. Our personalized and innovative educational curriculum ensures professional and personal growth in many possible directions: basic or translational science, patient oriented research, biotechnological innovation, or cutting-edge clinical practice and medical education. The program has customized internal tracks for Career Scientists, Translational and Patient Oriented Researchers, and Clinician Educators. Our NIH T32 grant supports promising candidates towards independent research careers and unique opportunities to complete a Masters in Epidemiology & Clinical Research or Health Services Research.
Thank you for your interest in our fellowship program and we invite you to explore further!
Best wishes,
