CONFERENCES

We offer a range of interactive clinical and research conferences to our fellows throughout the duration of their fellowship.
Detailed schedules of the various conferences offered at the different sites of training are listed below.

Stanford University Medical Center

Conference When What
Board Review Weekly, Wednesday 4.30PM Fellows and faculty will review GI board questions with a fellow moderating the session.
Clinical Case Review Weekly, Wednesday 5.30PM The Gastroenterology division and divisions of General Surgery participate in this multi-disciplinary conference. A GI fellow will present an interesting patient and then provide teaching on the relvant topic and present a review of the recent literature.
Core Curriculum Lectures Weekly, Friday 7.00AM Attendings from the Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology, Department of Radiology, Department of Pathology and the Department of Epidemiology will lecture on a variety of topics between September and June.
Fellows Program Meeting Monthly, Friday 8.00AM All fellows, program director, and fellowship coordinator meet together to discuss any issues and updates regarding the training program.
Journal Club Monthly, Wednesday 5.00PM Fellows and faculty critically discuss important clinical and/or basic research publications in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Research Talk Monthly, Wednesday 5.00PM Fellows and faculty provides updates on their research projects and receive feedback from the division leadership and other faculty.
State-of-the-Art Lecture Monthly, Wednesday 5.00PM Faculty or invited guest speakers educate the audience of recent advances in the field that are likely to have a significant impact on patient care.
Research Seminar Series Biweekly, Monday 5.00PM A seminar series focused on discussing basic/translational research and career development issues.
HSR and Population Sciences Interest Group Monthly, Wednesday 12.00PM Faculty and invited speakers present research focused on health sciences and patient outcomes.
Liver Tumor Board Weekly, Tuesday 2PM Weekly conference where we discuss management of complex liver tumors with hepatologists, radiologists, interventional radiologists and surgeons.
Liver Transplant Selection conference Weekly, Tuesday 12.30 PM An interdisciplinary team of hepatologists, surgeons, and other care providers discuss transplant eligibility of patients on the waiting list.
Foregut Clinical Conference Weekly, Thursday 12PM Weekly conference where we discuss complex GI cases with gastroenterologists, general surgeons with a radiologist present.
