Quotes from fellows:

“Exemplary coaching of endoscopic skills during procedures together. Particularly appreciate that when I’m struggling, she will take the scope to familiarize herself with the problem, then go back to where I was stuck and then give the scope back to me.”

“Goes above and beyond to organize the pig lab which was an excellent introduction in a well-organized, low stress, low consequence environment to endoscopic tools I had not used before.”

“Takes an active role in ensuring that logistics of fellows rotating at the VA are ironed out.”

“Excellent endoscopy teacher- provides very concrete feedback and real time suggestions for improving endoscopy skills.”

“Allows for discussion for clinical reasoning and use of evidence-based guidelines when making clinical decisions.”

“Allows for good fellow autonomy while providing guidance.”

Dr. Quan’s teaching philosophy: “My teaching philosophy is to foster a learning environment that is adaptable to each fellow’s performance level and goals. This may range from employing a more hands-on approach, to allowing space for supervised exploration, to providing supportive autonomy. I particularly enjoy teaching endoscopy, and it has been very rewarding to see our fellows learn new skills and gain proficiency.”
