Advanced Pediatric IBD Fellowship
Our Fellowship Program
The Stanford Advanced Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Fellowship is a non-ACGME, one-year program dedicated to developing expertise in IBD through multidisciplinary clinical training, education, and research. The Pediatric Advanced IBD Fellowship Training program will be offered to only one fellow a year. The advanced fellow will participate in IBD clinics, endoscopy, inpatient and outpatient consultations for patients with routine and complex IBD, and will also rotate through related subspecialty electives including the adult IBD center at Stanford.
The Center for IBD and Celiac Disease within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition provides interdisciplinary and state-of-the-art care to pediatric patients with IBD (including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, IBD unclassified, lymphocytic colitis, and very early onset IBD). The Center is supported by a transformative philanthropic gift and nationally recognized, seeing patients from all parts of California and surrounding regions.
Faculty within the IBD Program include IBD focused gastroenterologists with clinical, translational and basic research experience, pediatric surgeons, an integrative medicine gastroenterologist, and psychologist. Allied health professionals within the program include an IBD dietician, social worker, pharmacist, nurses, a nurse practitioner, medical assistant, and administrative staff. Collectively, we are able to provide holistic vanguard care for patients with the most complex IBD. We believe research is integral to advancing and leading the care of children with IBD. Investigators within the center lead or collaborate on research studies supported by NIH, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, and other extramural funding sources. We collaborate with leading investigators across Stanford University in fields as diverse as microbiology, immunology, organoid biology, and engineering.
